To join as a pilot for Glacier Airlines, the following criteria must be met and acknowleged:
Pilot Requirements
- Must be at least 14 years of age.
- Have Microsoft Flight Simulator X or Prepar3D simulators installed.
- Be knowledgeable in the use of VAFS or similar ACARS systems.
- (Optional) Previous VA experience. If you have verifiable transfer hours, you can be automatically promoted to a higher class rating.
Pilot Activity
- Glacier Airlines enforces a pilot rank system, with all pilots starting at Class C. Class C allows the use of regional aircraft under the GlacierNord and GlacierConnect banners. Class B encompasses medium-haul and Class A encompasses long-haul aircraft types.
- Class certifications are as follows:
- Class C: 0 hrs
- Class B: 20 hrs (+use of Class C aircraft)
- Class A: 50 hrs (+use of Class B and C aircraft)
- Pilots are expected to file at least one flight a month. Failure to do so can be grounds for termination, unless a Leave of Absence is requested and accepted.
- Downloads for Glacier Airlines aircraft are limited to pilots, and links to downloads our current fleet will be provided following the acceptance of your application.
